FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do you conduct the free evaluation?

We can either come to your house to conduct the evaluation in person, or host your evaluation on the phone. We want to hear all about your dog, the good, the bad and the ugly. We will discuss your training goals, your lifestyle and review our programs to find the best fit for you and your dog. We will review our tools and how they work so you are comfortable with our training methods. If in person, we will demonstrate basic obedience with one of our helper dogs so you can see our training approach in action and see first hand how impressive our trained dogs are, and how happy they are to perform the tasks at hand.

Will my dogs personality change through training?

A lot of people ask if their dog will become a robot after training, or lose their spunky personality. Absolutely not! We want to enhance your dogs personality, not diminish it. Through building their confidence, helping them process stimulus more effectively and learn to self soothe.  Through these actions, you will find that the bond with your dog is stronger than ever and they are happier than ever!

Do you offer a guarantee?

We take pride in the relationships we create with our training dogs and their owners! We offer lifetime support to our clients via a monthly group class and your trainer is always available for virtual support. When teaching a skill set, results will vary depending on execution and dedication to your program.

Do we offer boarding services?

We do offer boarding to our graduates on a case by case basis. We do have limited space so book well in advance.

Are all tools included in the program?

Yes, we will provide all tools necessary to train your dog including a slip lead, a long line lead and the electronic collar. We can provide links to any additional gear you may be interested in.

Do we use shock collars?

No, Shock collars are archaic and inhuman. We use electronic collars that provide stimulus to the dog when we are giving a command. We do not use the e- collar for punishment but rather to cue a positive action like come, sit or heel.

How long does training take?

It depends on the program you choose. The private lessons are conducted over the course of one lesson per week over the duration of 7 weeks. We require that you train with your dog daily, focusing on the homework that your trainer prescribes. If you train your dog for 15 minutes, 3 times per day, you will see results! If you decide on the board and train option, your trainer will be responsible for training your dog with the foundation of obedience and off leash control. In order to maintain the training the same expectation exists, 15 minutes, 3 times a day to keep your dog sharp and progressing in their skill sets! Training starts the minute you bring your dog home and never ends!

What age should I train my dog?

You should start training your dog the moment you bring them home. Structure and boundaries are so important when first building a relationship with your dog, whether your dog is 8 weeks old or entering their elder years, we have programs suited for you and your dog.

Should my entire family take part in training?

Absolutely! If we teach everyone in your household how to communicate the same way with your family pet, there will be a lot less confusion in the dog, less frustration in your family members and a well trained dog who has a strong bond will all members of the family.

Do you offer discounts for military and first responders?

We are proudly veteran owned and operated. We offer reduced rates for those who have served in any of the u.s military branches and first responders. Make sure to mention your service during your free evaluation.

What safety protocols do you follow?

We also require that your dog be current with the following vaccines: Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, and Lepto and provide a clear stool sample with in the last 6 months.
